360° Campaign Development

Miracle-Gro

Spring 2026 campaign concepts

We developed two complete 360° campaign concepts to reposition Miracle-Gro for a new generation of gardeners.
Two opposing strategic bets. One brief. Full execution plans for both.

The Challenge

Miracle-Gro helped millions grow plants, but the next generation of gardeners wants more than "how-to." They want "why now." The challenge: redefine gardening as a form of self-expression and wellness for consumers aged 25–40, while reinforcing Miracle-Gro's leadership in the category.

We identified a core strategic shift — same product truth (plants grow bigger), repositioned from a functional benefit to an emotional one — then built two fully distinct campaign worlds around that insight.

Old model

Functional benefit

New model

emotional benefit

Living room with large window shutters, multiple plants including a tall potted plant on a side table and a variety of potted plants on a table in the foreground. People are gathered, with one person watering plants, another holding a potted plant, and others engaging in plant-related activities.
What We Delivered

Full Campaign Systems, Start to Finish

Each concept was built as a complete, production-ready campaign system — not a mood board, not a tagline exploration, but the full architecture a brand needs to execute.

Concept 01
Grow Out Loud
Make some noise. Grow some joy.

Gardening Is the Last Quiet Hobby in a Loud World.

New generations document everything. They share failures as content. They turn hobbies into identity and community. Over 70% of 18–35 year olds say they're interested in gardening, and 83% are calling it "cool." On TikTok, #gardening has generated 20.9 billion views.

But walk into any garden center and look at most gardening content — it's all still speaking in hushed, soft tones. Grow Out Loud gives young gardeners permission to garden the way they do everything else — messily, publicly, proudly.

Transform gardening from whispered perfection to celebrated expression.

Perfection Performance (Make it entertaining)
Silent Social (Make it shareable)
Patient Passionate (Make it emotional)
Visual Brand System

Nature Amplified

Every visual element should feel like gardening turned up to 11 — where soil meets sound waves, where plants meet paint, and where nature meets neon. We celebrate vibrant growth over quiet patience, colorful chaos over perfect rows, and social gardens over solitary ones.

Concept 02
Roots.
Grow something deeper.

We've Never Been More Connected. Or More Anxious.

7+ hours of daily screen time. 150+ phone checks per day. 71% report digital fatigue. We have 1,000 digital friends but feel alone. We have infinite content but no contentment. We have constant connection but no roots.

We are in a mental-health crisis as anxiety is at all-time highs. About 49% of consumers garden for mental health benefits, and "digital detox" searches are up 300%.

Meanwhile... Our grandparents found daily peace in 10 minutes of soil. No apps. No metrics. No optimization. Just hands, earth, and patience.

This generation craves what gardening naturally provides:

Digital world Analog experiences
Fast culture Slow practices
Virtual reality Real growth
Instant age Inherited wisdom
Visual Brand System

Inherited Beauty

Every visual element should feel like it could have been found in your grandparents' attic — timeless, authentic, and worn with love. We celebrate patina over polish, wisdom over trend, and morning light over harsh brightness.

The Discovery

Parallel Journeys

1962 Grandpa | 2026 Grandchild. Same Miracle-Gro product. Same measurement, same mixing. Same kneeling in soil. Same patient watching. Same morning light. Same satisfied sigh. Same gentle smile.

The Wisdom + End Card

"He never called it self-care. Never tracked his wellness score. Never optimized his practice. He just called it morning. And maybe that's all it needed to be." Vintage tin morphs to modern packaging. ROOTS. Grow Something Deeper. Miracle-Gro.
